A great destination festival with awe inspiring scenery, this festival offers student groups a 2 or 3 night package and a great musical experience with outstanding adjudicators and terrific local and guest performers.

Friday, April 20, 2012

Arrival & Check In – All groups are required to arrive and check in on Friday. Plan to arrive early and become familiar with Sun Peaks and what is has to offer.
Adjudication & Workshops: Concert Bands and Choirs each give an adjudicated performance that becomes the basis for building on ensemble strengths in the workshops that follow. Class 2 & 3 Concert Bands perform for 20 minutes followed by a 30 minute workshop, Class 4 – 6 Concert Bands perform for 30 minutes followed by a 30 minute workshop. Choirs perform for 30 minutes followed by a 30 minute workshop. Each ensemble receives recorded and/or written comments and a plaque. Audience is open to all.
Mass choir rehearsals and mass trumpet and clarinet ensembles take place in the late afternoon. Music will be placed online in January, 2012 so that groups can rehearse well in advance.
Evening Festival Concert – a concert featuring the mass ensembles and special guest performers from the area.
Evening Directors’ Reception – Directors are invited to meet colleagues, adjudicators and festival organizers at an evening reception hosted by Affinity Group Tours.

Instrumental workshops – 50 minute instrumental and vocal workshops are scheduled throughout the morning. The festival ends at noon on Sunday.
